Hello and welcome to my unit!
I’m Fredia Fisher, BSN, RN, Clinical Director of the Medical/Cardiac unit, also known as 2-North. We are located on the 2nd floor of the Patient Tower at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.
The environment on our unit is fast-paced, caring, and compassionate.
We care for adult patients who are being treated for chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, pulmonary edema, DVT, PE, COPD, TIA / Stroke, kidney disease, diabetes, sepsis, and other medical issues. Our patients are unique because they have a wide variety of diagnoses, each needing specialized care.
One of the perks of working on my unit is the amazing teamwork shown by all staff members.
Our nurses are successful because they have the knowledge, kindness, and desire to make a difference.
We orient new nurses to our unit by placing them with a preceptor and tailoring their orientation to their individual needs.
We encourage professional growth.
If your career goal is to positively impact the lives of others, 2-North can help with this by fostering an environment where the patients are our top priority.
