Nursing Explorers (for ages 16 - 20)

Who are we?
Vanderbilt Health Nursing Explorer program awards young adults ages 16-20 with an opportunity to explore the various nursing specialties as a career.
 

Why Nursing Explorers?
If you are considering becoming a nurse, our Nursing Explorer Program is for you. The Nurse Explorer program will enhance your knowledge of the field of nursing and the various nursing specialties. Our program is tailored to give you exposure to various career opportunities, life skills, service learning, and character development.
 

Program Overview:
The Nursing Explorer program starts in August and ends in April of each year.  You will attend 8 monthly sessions.  You may have an opportunity to tour our state-of-the-art medical facilities when onsite visitations are allowed.

•    LifeFlight
•    Perioperative Simulation Lab
•    Hematology-Oncology
•    Psychiatric Hospital
•    Trauma
•    Ambulatory
•    Women’s Health
•    Pediatric Introduction to Children’s Hospital
•    Cardiac Cath Lab
 

Certification
You may have the opportunity to register for CPR classes and obtain CPR certification.
 

Program Requirements
•    Age 16 through 20 years old
•    Submit Online registration
•    Interest in Health Care
