Pediatric Acute Care (PAC), 6th Floor Monroe Carell

360Hello and welcome to our unit!

I’m Meagan Davis, MHA, BSN, RN, Manager of the Pediatric Acute Care unit, also known as PAC or Pod 6C.  We are located on the 6th Floor of Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

The environment on our unit is patient-centered, fast-paced, and team-focused.

We care for pediatric patients from newborn to 18 years who are being treated for a variety of conditions.  Our patients are unique because we care for a broad spectrum of patients with both medical and/or surgical diagnoses.

One of the perks of working on my unit is the rare opportunity to have an impact on the hospital’s growth as we are the newest acute care area within Monroe Carell and have quickly developed a strong foundation centered on teamwork and flexibility.

Our nurses are successful because they have a passion for patient-centered care, work collaboratively with the interprofessional team, and support each other.

We orient new nurses to our unit by providing a six-week unit-specific orientation with dedicated preceptors.

We encourage professional growth.

If your career goal is to learn a variety of nursing skills and diagnoses while building a strong nursing foundation, Pediatric Acute Care can help with this by introducing you to a diverse patient population.

If you have any questions about our unit, please email me at meagan.davis@vumc.org or visit Work at VanderbiltHealth to explore open nursing positions.
