Shannon Mullens
Lead Administrative Assistant
Shannon began her career at Vanderbilt in 2001 as a patient service coordinator in the department of Ophthalmology. After spending three and a half years there and working up to the position of an administrative assistant, she transferred to the department of Orthopaedics in 2004 where she spent the next 18 years. During that time, she was the lead administrative assistant for the divisions of Orthopaedic Trauma and Musculoskeletal Oncology. In 2011, she became the program manager for their residency program. Shannon was responsible for assisting with the training and education of 25 residents each year. In 2022, Shannon decided it was time for a change and transferred to the Office of Nursing Excellence bringing with her 22 years of administrative knowledge and experience. They didn’t know it at the time, but they hit the jackpot when they got her!
Shannon enjoys life and spending time with her family and little diva girls, as well as baking, crafting, and planning parties!
