There are Ambulatory Care Clinics/Facilities located throughout Nashville, Middle-Tennessee, and beyond. Vanderbilt is focused on expanding locations to meet the rapid growth and healthcare needs of our community.
Ambulatory care nursing provides the opportunity to practice across the continuum of care. We provide wellness and specialty care to patients of all ages. The environment in our Ambulatory Care Clinics/Facilities is neighborly and compassionate.
Ambulatory visits can range from walk-ins for minor ailments, diagnostic testing, chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments, to post-surgery visits.
The perks of working at one of the Vanderbilt Ambulatory Care Clinics/Facilities include having a choice of work locations and a variety of patient populations.
Our nurses are successful because they are committed to our patients, flexible, and are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
We orient new nurses to our Ambulatory Care Clinics/Facilities based on the individual needs of each area. In most cases, a dedicated preceptor or preceptors are assigned.
As of January 2020, Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute (VHVI) and Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) have been added to the Ambulatory track of VUMC’s Nurse Residency Program.
