Ziad Al Adas, MD
Dr. Al Adas joined our surgical faculty in the Department of Vascular Surgery as Assistant Professor. His clinical focus areas are aortic aneurysms and dissections including complex repairs, peripheral vascular disease, carotid and cerebrovascular disease, thoracic outlet syndrome, visceral and renovascular disease, and hemodialysis access.
Research
Dr. Al Adas's research will focus on clinical outcomes in vascular disease and surgery, intersecting with his clinical interests. His areas of interest include complex aortic endovascular repair, as well as lower extremity peripheral vascular disease. His projects have targeted thoracic and abdominal aortic pathologies, critical limb ischemia, carotid disease, dialysis access and venous disease.
Memberships, Awards and Honors
Dr. Al Adas is a member of the American College of Surgeons and Alpha Omega Alpha. He is also a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, the Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery, and the Eastern Vascular Society. Dr. Adas has received the Clyde F. Barker Chief Resident and Fellow Teaching Award and the Penn Center of Surgical Excellence Award.
Education
Dr. Al Adas received his medical degree at American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed a post-graduate research fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. This was followed by a residency in Integrated Vascular Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA.
