Manager, Patient Care Services/Nursing
Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital

I started my career as a medical-surgical nurse in Texas, where I worked for two years. I moved to Nashville in 2001, where I began my career at Vanderbilt in a clinic nurse role. This change in my career brought excitement and challenges as I transitioned into a career in a teaching hospital. I was able to utilize the nursing tuition benefit to receive my MSN in Nursing Education from Belmont University. I am proud to be a nurse at Vanderbilt while working in different areas to expand my clinical knowledge while always being challenged to pursue leadership opportunities.

The best part about being a nurse leader at Vanderbilt is working with our patient population and our staff. I enjoy working with others who share the common goal of improving outcomes and providing personalized care to patients. There are opportunities as a leader to empower nurses to share in decision-making and to utilize evidence-based practice to guide their practice. Vanderbilt gives the platform for staff to excel in clinical practice, complete research projects, and further their education.
