In December 2021, VPH volunteers went to the Weaver Domestic Violence Center to deliver gifts donated for the Holiday Help campaign by the YWCA. WDVC is a short-term emergency shelter for women and children escaping abuse. The items donated included basic household items as well as toys and items the survivors put on their "Christmas wish list." 

 
pic In October 2021, we partnered with Vanderbilt Center of Women’s Health in Springfield to collect undergarments for our clothing closet. In total, we had over 100 pairs of socks, underwear, bras, and undershirts donated. 

 
In September 2021, volunteers went to Second Harvest Food Bank to sort through donated frozen foods.  Up to 85% of food thrown out by grocery stores is still safe to eat.  This program finds that 85%.  The VPH team sorted 4,709 pounds of food that will make 3,925 meals and serve 46 Tennessee counties.

The VBH Nurse Residents wrote letters for “Custom Hygiene Kits” for the Community Resource Center in Nashville. The kits will be distributed to senior citizens, teachers, first responders, etc.

 		 August 2021 - Volunteers went to Park Center to wash feet and perform basic foot care. Park Center supports individuals experiencing low income/houselessness/etc through sobriety. Education was provided on the importance of good foot care for overall health outcomes.
Our June 2021 project was at The Bridge Program's "Under the Bridge" event. This event occurs weekly under the Jefferson bridge and serves low income and homeless individuals. People who come are welcomed with a warm meal, bag of groceries to take home, clothes and other donated items, and a worship service including music and a sermon. photo
