Kimberly Garcia
Kimberly Garcia is a Research Analyst for the Vanderbilt Clinical Informatics Center (VCLIC). Kimberly earned her Bachelor's of Arts degrees in Communications of Science and Technology and American Studies from Vanderbilt University in 2024. Having always been interested in patient safety, health policy, and innovation, she took part in several undergraduate research projects focusing on variations present in rural communities across the southeast.
She comes into this role with a wide-range of experiences. Right out of high school, she worked at a local rehabilitation center, assisting therapists and other healthcare professionals in keeping one of the busiest centers in the Metro Atlanta area running during a pandemic. For 10 months, she worked as an IT and Compliance intern at Porsche Cars North America, headquartered in Atlanta. In 2023, she was 1 of 22 selected students to take part in a selective study abroad program that influenced her decision to pursue a career in health innovation. Being from Atlanta, you can typically find Kimberly cheering on her favorite sports teams on the weekend, trying new coffee shops local to Nashville and enjoying the outdoors.
In this role, she hopes to grow her data science skills within the realm of clinical informatics and assist on research projects related to patient safety, quality improvement, and bioethics.
