Jonathan Shipley, DNP
Kipp Shipley began his career in healthcare as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Knoxville, Tennessee, and went on to graduate as a Registered Nurse from the University of Tennessee. He began his nursing career in Open Heart Recovery in Louisville, Kentucky, and later transitioned to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. While at Rush University, he obtained a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a research focus in in-hospital resuscitation quality. As a new nurse practitioner Kipp joined the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and assisted in staffing the dedicated covid unit during the Covid-19 Pandemic. In 2021 Kipp joined the Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) at Vanderbilt and is now the Team Lead for CCOT. He has presented at regional, national, and international conferences on resuscitation quality and data collection, and is a co-author on the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Guidelines for Recognizing Deterioration Outside of the Intensive Care Unit.
