Kimberly Garcia is a Research Analyst for the Vanderbilt Clinical Informatics Center.

  Kimberly graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in communications of science and technology and American studies. Having always been interested in patient safety, health policy, and innovation, she took part in several undergraduate research projects specifically focusing on various health disparities present in rural communities across the southeast. 
  She comes into this role with a wide-range of experiences. Right out of high school, she worked at a local rehabilitation center in Atlanta, Georgia, assisting health professionals in keeping a busy center running during a pandemic. For 8 months, she worked as an IT and Compliance intern at Porsche Cars North America. In 2023, she was 1 of 22 selected students to take part in the selective study abroad program: Migration, International Health, and Social Justice: Geneva, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Florence, and Rome. 
  In this role, she hopes to grow her data science skills within the realm of clinical informatics and assist on research projects related to patient safety, quality improvement, and ethics.
