Meet Our Chief Nursing Officer
My name is Michele Hasselblad.
I am delighted to serve as the Vice President of Adult Ambulatory Nursing Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).
Our Adult Ambulatory clinics’ footprint spans Middle Tennessee and beyond with over 150 clinical locations. Our aim is to expand and personalize patient care to meet the healthcare needs of our community and region.
Ambulatory nurses are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team contributing to clinical outcomes by applying the nursing process to meet the needs of patients and their families. Shared governance and professional growth are cornerstones of our ambulatory nursing practice along with a patient-centered focus on quality, safety, and evidence-based practice. We are defining personalized care and making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
After graduating with an associate degree in nursing in 1992, I practiced as a staff nurse for 15 years prior to shifting my direction to a leadership focus. Since joining the team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2005, I have continued my educational journey completing my MSN at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 2010 and just recently completed my DNP at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I’ve served in both inpatient and outpatient leadership positions and was appointed to the role of VP of Adult Ambulatory Nursing Service in July 2019. It’s a privilege to lead nursing services at Vanderbilt—our nurses are the best!
