Brief Bio

Dr. Patel completed her pre-doctoral internship at the VA-Vanderbilt Internship Consortium in 2005-06.  Following internship, she joined the staff at VA TVHS as a Geropsychologist in the Community Living Centers.  Dr. Patel created the VA TVHS Psychology Postdoctoral Program in 2013 which is focused on delivery of mental health services on interprofessional teams.  In 2014, Dr. Patel became Board Certified in Geropsychology.  That same year, she moved into a mostly administrative role, as the Assistant Chief and Director of Training.  She currently provides clinical services and supervision as part of the BHIP2 team which is an outpatient team focused on care of older Veterans and their families.  Dr. Patel has also been very involved in local and state organizations, having served as the Tennessee Psychological Association President in 2015.
