Get your flu shot
The Student Health Center offers the influenza vaccine on a walk-in basis between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. with no appointment needed. The flu shot is the best way to prevent the flu or reduce the symptoms of the flu.
There is no cost for the flu shot. Bring your Student ID and wear short sleeves.
We will offer Fluarix - standard dose, trivalent inactivated vaccine (TIV) for individuals 6 months to 64 years of age. This vaccine is preservative-free. People with an egg allergy CAN receive this vaccine, as egg allergy is not a contraindication to Fluarix.
Other preventative measures
Cover your mouth and nose. When you are with others or alone, cough or sneeze with a disposable tissue or into your sleeve.
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Don't share silverware, dishes, cups and glasses with anybody else.
Consider preventative antiviral medication if your roommate or other close contact has been diagnosed with the flu. Message your provider at the SHC or visit us at Student Health Monday through Friday during business hours.
If you are not feeling well
Mask up if you have flu-like symptoms (cough, sore throat, fever, chills, headache, runny or stuffy nose, soreness & aching in back, arms or legs).
Test for flu with an in-home COVID/flu test or at the Student Health Center.
If you test positive, review our respiratory illness handout, message your provider at the SHC to see if antiviral medications are recommended, or visit us at Student Health if you have additional concerns.
As always, if you have a fever or flu-like symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with the flu or COVID-19, visit us at the Student Health Center. As always, please put on a mask when you arrive.
