Welcome to the Promoting Excellent People (PEP) Club!
To support the AEE mission of fostering educational excellence, innovation, leadership, and scholarship, the AEE Promoting Excellent People (PEP) Club offers tailored mentoring for faculty members keen on developing as a medical educator and advancing in medical education.
Purpose:
Our aim is to provide tailored one-on-one mentoring to faculty members interested in cultivating an educator role as a core aspect of their career. Through personalized guidance, we strive to engage faculty early in their development as an educator in activities and programs that align with their career aspirations.
Logistics:
Participants are paired with experienced medical education experts and these pairs convene for bi-annual meetings. All participants are encouraged to join two annual networking and educational events sponsored by the Academy of Excellence in Education. Mentorship and mentee training sessions along with additional resources are provided to support participants’ journeys.
We recognize that faculty cultivate interest in education at different points throughout their career. In this light, our one-on-one pairings are with a person more junior in their educator efforts and a person more senior in their educator effort, not necessarily based on academic rank.
