Mission Statement

The Vanderbilt Anesthesiology Summer Research Program (VASRP) is committed to cultivating the next generation of physician-scientists by providing immersive research experiences, clinical exposure and professional development within a supportive and intellectually vibrant environment. Through mentorship, hands-on learning and community engagement, VASRP empowers aspiring anesthesiologists to explore their passions and prepare for impactful careers in academic medicine.

Message from the Director

Welcome! The Vanderbilt Anesthesiology Summer Research Program (VASRP) is designed to be a potential pipeline for research-dedicated residency and the BH Robbins Physician-Scientist Development Program. The overall objective is to inspire the next generation of physician-scientists while illustrating our department’s level of investment and commitment to research and trainee development. Throughout the eight-week program, I am here to invest in you by facilitating your professional and personal development as you explore your interests in anesthesiology research and clinical care.
