Federal officials with the White House and National Institutes of Health (NIH) recently announced today that Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) will lead the Direct Volunteers Pilot Studies under the first grant to be awarded in the federal Precision Medicine Initiative Cohort Program.  A pioneer in Vanderbilt's precision medicine efforts, Josh Denny, M.D., M.S., Associate Professor of Biomedical Inforamtics and Medicine is the principal investigator for the effort, which is supported by a one-year grant from the PMI Cohort Program (NIH Award #1-OT2-OD-023132).

Dr. Nancy Lorenzi received the Five Pillar Leadership Award from the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  This award recognizes exceptional leaders who consistently model a balanced approach to leadership across the five pillars of excellence and the Credo.

Dr. Chris Lehmann, Professor of Pediatrics and Biomedical Informatics, has been appointed by the U.S. Government Accountability Office as the first pediatrician to serve on the Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee.

A team of researchers, including Dr. Bradley Malin, Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics received the Homer R.

Dr. Josh Denny, Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics and Medicine, received a 2014 Chancellor's Award for Research.
