DBMI's Patrick Wu, Scott Nelson, Wei-Qi Wei, Qingxia Chen, Vern Eric Kerchberger et al Featured in 2022 AMIA Informatics Summit's Year-in-Review

The 2022 AMIA Informatics Summit took place from May 21 to May 24 in Chicago. The Informatics Summit program included four plenaries, including two special keynotes and two Year-in-Review presentations.

The Year-in-Review presentation for Translational Bioinformatics and Data Science was presented by Nicholas Tatonetti, PhD, FACMI, Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics in the Departments of Biomedical Informatics, Systems Biology, and Medicine, and Director of Clinical Informatics at the Institute for Genomic Medicine at Columbia University. This year, more than 280 papers were triaged and more than 180 papers were reviewed and scored by students, postdocs and faculty. A total of 25 papers were presented.

The goal of the 2022 Year-in-Review was to:

  • Review trends in the translational bioinformatics literature
  • Create a "snapshot" of what the field is doing now (Spring 2022)
  • Recognize innovative work and identify opportunities for the future
