Master's in Human Development Studies
The HDS– Dietitian/Nutritionist specialization track is a rigorous and integrated program that will help you acquire a strong theoretical grounding in human development, relational paradigms, and change strategies. Courses offered in the MEd/DI program are designed to foster close working relationships with faculty and a personalized approach, resulting in productive classroom experiences.
HDS- Dietitian/Nutritionist graduates are prepared to work as Registered Dietitian Nutritionists in in hospitals, local or state government agencies, businesses, and organizations providing care, education, advocacy and/or services to help individuals across the lifespan navigate health and wellness challenges. This training will also prepare graduates to continue their academic careers in doctoral programs related to nutrition, medicine, health and human development services.
The MEd courses are a blend of synchronous and asynchronous instruction with on campus and on-line components. Requirements encompass a 30-semester-hour curriculum focusing on human development theory, strategic engagement and management, diversity and equity, and organizational performance and evaluation. The HDS-Dietitian/Nutritionist program can be completed in 4 semesters, beginning in early July and concluding in August of the following year. Annual cohorts can include up to 20 students.
The 2024-2025 class will be the final MEd/DI class.
