Robert Sinard, MD, FACS

Robert Sinard has been a head and neck oncologic surgeon at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since 2005 and was the Program Director for our residency since 2009. He became the Associate Residency Program Director in 2023. In 2013, working with full-time missionary and regional surgeons, he established the first sub-Saharan effort to address a gap in knowledge and skill in advanced training in head and neck reconstruction, working in the educational center of Kijabe, Kenya. He has been a member of the AHNS Humanitarian Committee since 2017 and an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology since 2020. 

His many honors include the University of Texas-Southwestern's Residents’ Recognition Award for Teaching (1998 & 2000), the Wesley Wilkerson MD Award for Clinical Excellence (2015), the Vanderbilt Residents' Teaching Award (2016), the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery Foundation Honors Award (2016), and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award (2018).
