In partnership with the University Eduardo Mondlane (UEM), faculty and staff from the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health (VIGH) led a 10-day grant writing workshop in Maputo, Mozambique to train Mozambican health professionals on techniques to strengthen and improve their grant proposals.
The workshop focused on research in the field of HIV/AIDS implementation science with specific submissions to the National Research Fund which is administered by the Mozambican Ministry of Science, Technology, and Superior Education.
Research data from in-country projects provide a foundation for competitive proposals with larger funding streams from U.S. and European donors.
The workshop was funded by the program, UEM Partnership for Research in Implementation Science in Mozambique (PRISM). It is directed by Troy Moon, M.D., M.P.H., Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Mohsin Sidat, M.D., MSc, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University Eduardo Mondlane.
