The Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health Student Advisory Council Host Virtual Competition and Symposium

The Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health Student Advisory Council (SAC) is a student-led organization that brings together diverse students interested in global health with the goal of fostering cross-disciplinary student networking and collaboration. Although networking and collaboration often occur in person, this year, council leaders pivoted two key events to be held online. They welcomed a record attendance of Vanderbilt students, staff, faculty, and community members engaged in global health.

In the 2016 Global Health Case Competition, teams proposed solutions to strengthen the health system in Liberia after the Ebola outbreak.
The Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health’s Student Advisory Council hosted its sixth annual Global Health Case Competition from February 7-13, 2016. This year, the Student Advisory Council organized several experts from the field to give presentations on health systems strengthening (HSS) and act as judges for the competition.

The Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health Student Advisory Council hosted its third annual Global Health Case Competition from February 13-16, 2013. Thirteen multidisciplinary teams composed of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from eight schools across the university competed in the event, tackling a complex, real-world challenge of global significance.
