Sarah Crane, MEd
Sarah Crane is an international educator and global development worker with over 10 years of experience in the field. With a passion for creating innovative solutions to complex challenges, she has worked in a variety of roles both domestically and abroad.
For the past four years, Sarah has held the role of Associate Director for the Humphrey Fellowship Program at Vanderbilt University where she supported the programming of professional and leadership development workshops, communicated with various stakeholders including the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), Institute for International Education (IIE), the Tennessee Department of Education, Vanderbilt faculty and staff, alongside local partnering individuals, institutions, and organizations; led program logistics; and more.
Prior to joining the Humphrey Fellowship staff, Sarah worked as a Marketing Consultant for multiple international nonprofits and businesses based in Nashville after spending six years working in Uganda. During her time overseas, she focused on educational support, leadership development, and cross-cultural collaboration at a secondary school in Western Uganda.
Sarah is passionate for change, growth, and holistic support of education access and teacher support in underserved areas and developing contexts. She is always curious to learn, problem-solve, and bring a vision of ubuntu to the work she does. Sarah believes education is one of the best levers for change we have available today and is excited to bring that work into partnership with the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health.
