The Vanderbilt Hemostasis/Hemophilia Clinic offers a wide variety of education regarding you or your child’s bleeding disorder.
♦ Individualized educational sessions are available for any patient that is newly diagnosed with a bleeding disorder. This session is available to all family members of the patient and any other caregivers that wish to attend. The nurse and social worker will meet with the family to help gain an understanding of the bleeding disorder and teach them how to care for themselves or their child with a bleeding disorder.
♦ If the VHTC team determines you or your child will need a central venous access device (port) for home infusion therapy (prophylaxis), the nurse will begin education sessions with up to 3 primary caregivers
