Dr. Warren Taylor is the director of the Laboratory of Affective and Cognitive Imaging. He completed his medical training at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, then his psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Duke University. He joined the Duke University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in 2001. In 2012 he moved to the Vanderbilt Department of Psychiatry and the Vanderbilt Center for Cognitive Medicine. He currently has a joint appointment between Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) at the Nashville VA Hospital in the VA Tennessee Valley Health System.
His primary administrative role involves serving as the Division Director of the Vanderbilt Division of Geriatric Psychiatry. He has served on numerous NIH grant review committees and is a frequent reviewer for scientific journals for manuscripts on depression, aging and cognitive neuroscience. He mentors a wide range of individuals developing research careers in these areas. In his spare time he still watches science fiction television and movies.
