SERENADE is an inclusive, small-group parent-child music class that uses musical games, parent training, and peer interaction strategies to promote social engagement and positive behavior in children with and without Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The program studies how musical experiences scaffold a child's development, meaningful social engagement, and impact and support family and community connections. During SERENADE's weekly music classes, families build a musical toolbox of strategies designed to foster and enrich shared social experiences.
Who Is Involved?
SERENADE is led by our Principal Investigator, Dr. Miriam Lense, PhD. Lab members involved include: Sara Beck, Danielle Dai, Nikki Diaz, Christina Liu, Rita Pfeiffer, Rongyu Xin, Nia Goodman, Mary Nevins, Michael Burchesky, and Megan Lynch.
