Welcome to Perioperative Services
VUMC Perioperative Services is a dynamic department with over 900 employees, 69 adult operating rooms (and growing!) in addition to 19 pediatric operating rooms in Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
As part of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, our employees participate in the implementation of cutting-edge surgical technology and assist in the latest procedures. Our services are extensive and include organ transplants, joint replacements, minimally invasive surgery (including robotics), reconstructive plastic surgery, and much more. Services are offered on the main campus near downtown Nashville as well as our various off-site specialty facilities.
The Perioperative Services department encompasses the entire surgical experience. Our goal is to provide the best possible patient surgical care as we continually strive to be the Perioperative Center of Excellence in the Southeastern United States.
