B. Lakshitha A. Perera, Ph.D.

Lakshitha holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry with broad expertise in computational biological sciences and biochemistry, encompassing areas such as genomics, protein engineering, and bioinformatics. Trained at the intersection of multiple disciplines, he is deeply passionate about using his extensive skills to advance the diagnosis and treatment of rare genetic disorders. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the Gamazon Lab, Lakshitha's current research focuses on integrating computational modeling, mutational analysis, bioinformatics, and machine learning to advance personalized therapeutics. He has been an active contributor to the Undiagnosed Disease Network since 2023.
