Chris Moth, PhD, MS

Structural Biology Consultant
Chemistry, Meiler Lab

Chris Moth develops the VUStruct compute pipeline, which supports the UDN from the perspective of structural biology.  For each undiagnosed patient case, VUStruct launches a growing suite of software on Vanderbilt’s ACCRE cluster.  These programs analyze patient genetic variants in context of protein 3D atomic structure.  Their results are automatically combined into interactive webpages and then summarized to the Potocsnak Center clinical team by Dr. Mamun.

Chris’s energies combine decades of experience as a software entrepreneur with his passion for academic research.   He believes VUStruct has a bright future, powered by the ongoing explosions in available protein 3D structures, genome sequencing, compute power, and artificial intelligence.
