Thomas A. Cassini, MD
Dr. Cassini is the Associate Director of the Potocsnak Center for Undiagnosed and Rare Disorders and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine in the Division of Genetics and Genomic Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and a chief residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He then completed his Medical Genetics and Genomics and Medical Biochemical Genetics fellowships at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Cassini has always been interested in solving puzzles and complex problems. He has found the most rewarding aspect of his medical career is helping patients with complicated and mysterious presentations to reach a diagnosis. The opportunity to do this as a part of a thoughtful and dedicated team of healthcare providers, researchers, and support staff is what has him most excited to be working in the Potocsnak Center.
