"Improving Systems of Care for Early Identification of ASD: The Potential Value and Costs of Telemedicine"
Summary:
This talk will briefly review system challenges related to accurate identification of autism spectrum disorder in young children and provide an overview of novel telemedicine-based tools designed to enhance care. Preliminary data regarding accuracy of tele-assessment methods in rural geographies and during COVID-19 deployment will be presented. Potential opportunities for the broad use of telemedicine in ASD and concerns regarding potential health disparities will be discussed.
