Located within the Vanderbilt Eye Institute, our low-vision occupational therapists work with the Department of Ophthalmology to provide individualized services to patients with low vision disorders including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
Working closely with the optometrist, the occupational therapist evaluates the patient's functional deficits as a result of their visual impairment and provides training using optical and non-optical devices to help improve their activities of daily living.
