Lean training program management
In partnership with the Operations Improvement Department, April Saunders, LSSYB, manages the Lean Training program at VUMC. Both instructor-led and online training are available through the Learning Exchange. Instructor-led sessions qualify for CNE credit.

This 2-hour course will equip you with a basic knowledge of continuous improvement concepts and how they apply to your area of work. You will be able to recognize the characteristics of non-value-added activities and how to reduce wasted resources in your area while also improving the customer experience.
Leading Problem Solving
Have you ever had a problem that just won’t go away or a metric that won’t improve? This 2.5-hour course will equip you with a problem-solving framework to attack any problem and the practical skills to apply it in your area. Upon completing the course, you will be able to systematically investigate any problem in your area while collaborating with your staff to implement effective and sustained solutions.
