Jyothi Rengarajan, Ph.D., visited the Vanderbilt TB Center on August 17th to engage in collaborative discussions about her work at the Emory Vaccine Center. Dr. Rengarajan is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University and is an Emory Global Health Institute Distinguished Faculty awardee. Her research program centers on understanding the mechanisms of Mycobacterium tuberculosis pathogenesis and host immunity to infection.
While visiting, Dr. Rengarajan presented at the Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology Seminar Series on "Immunity to Tuberculosis: Of Microbes, Mice and Men".
Dr. Tim Sterling, Director of the TB Center, and Dr. Rengarajan continue discussions of projects engaging the Nashville and Atlanta communities.
