As a service under the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, Emergency General Surgery (EGS) serves a patient population who requires a timely assessment and surgical intervention in many cases. These patients may have a new issue such as an infected or ruptured appendix or they can have a complication from a previous procedure.
