Welcome to the Vanderbilt Center for Trauma, Burn, and Emergency Surgery where the clinical service lines of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, Orthopaedic Trauma, Burn Services, and Emergency General Surgery have joined forces both clinically and administratively to provide a better experience for our patients and their families. As the only American College of Surgeons (ACS) designated Level 1 Trauma Center in the state of Tennessee, Vanderbilt University Medical Center has a responsibility to meet the acute care needs of our patients as well as the needs of our referring providers, Emergency Medical and Fire personnel, and other constituents. With a catchment area of 65,000 square miles from Southern Kentucky to Northern Alabama and everywhere in between, the needs of the community are as diverse as they are vast. Under the Medical Direction of Dr. Alex Jahangir, our multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to everything we do has aligned us to better meet this need.
