Advancing discoveries in Alzheimer's research
At the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer's Center, we are at the forefront of advancing knowledge in Alzheimer's disease prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment. Through our research, we aim to pave the way for a new era of understanding and managing Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
We are committed to discoveries that serve our local communities
More than 120,000 Tennesseans are living with Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to rise in the coming years. Our researchers are working to change that.
Your participation is key to this effort. If you are 50 years of age or older and live in Middle Tennessee or are willing to travel to Nashville for frequent research visits, then you may be eligible to join one of our research studies. Join an active study.
We are training the next generation of scientists and clinicians
Worldwide, there is an insufficient number of investigators and clinicians who specialize in Alzheimer's disease relative to its extraordinary burden. To ensure long-term sustainability and growth in the field, the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer's Center has established a unique training program to prime the pipeline for the next generation of scientists and clinicians in Alzheimer's and cognitive aging. Discover training opportunities.
We are working to end the burden of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias
With growing evidence that brain and vascular health are intertwined, at the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer's Center, we seek to map the pathways that lead to Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline among older adults. Our goal is to advance scientific knowledge to reduce the public health burden of mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and related disorders. Learn about our research.
