Liz Bossong was nominated by a great amount of her colleagues which speaks to her influence on CVICU. A lot of staff said the same thing when it came to what Liz does as a preceptor. “Liz is very motivated, engaged, and is always teaching orientees.” Liz is continually flexible in talking on a variety of fresh staff to teach and does it with a smile every time. As a nurse resident, Liz remembers how it feels to start on our crazy and fast paced unit and provides a welcoming demeanor and safe space for new hires. Education comes so naturally to Liz. She is helps instruct the IABP class, does targeted teaching for new hires, and carries a resource binder at work to utilize for teaching moments. Her style is effortless and impactful.
