Vanderbilt University’s Employee Learning and Engagement Team will host the the seventh annual TEDxVanderbiltUniversity on April 18 and feature a talk on how artificial intelligence could reshape the future of healthcare. Dr. Benjamin Collins, a physician researcher, bioethicist and informatician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, will discuss “Navigating the AI Future of Health Care” at the event.

Three Vanderbilt University faculty members have been elected to the 2023 College of Fellows of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). 

Clinics serving patients with type 2 diabetes may now deploy an automated text-messaging system to send friendly communications reminding patients to take their medications, choose healthy foods, and stay active.

A survey sent to more than 43,000 patients living in several states around the country finds that 96% of patients who use patient web portals prefer immediate online access to their clinical test results, notwithstanding the prospect of reviewing results before their physicians have a chance to review them. Led by researchers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), the survey was reported March 20 in JAMA Network Open.
