Faculty Appointments and Promotions Committee (FAPC)
The FAPC consists of sixteen faculty members at the rank of Professor, from the Investigator and Educator tracks, representing diverse disciplines within the School of Medicine, including the Basic Sciences. The FAPC consists of two committees that share Co-Chairs for oversight of its reviews. These committees evaluate nominations for appointment or promotion to the senior ranks on the Investigator and Educator tracks. The committees' recommendations are advisory to the Dean, and are further reviewed by the Executive Committee for the Executive Faculty (ECEF).

The CPAPC consists of faculty members at the rank of Professor, from the Clinical Practice track, representing the diverse clinical disciplines within the School of Medicine. This committee evaluates nominations for appointment or promotion to the senior ranks on the Clinical Practice track. The committee's recommendations are advisory to the Dean, and are further reviewed by the Executive Committee for the Executive Faculty (ECEF).

Executive Committee of the Executive Faculty (ECEF)
The ECEF is comprised of ten members of the Executive Faculty, representing the academic departments and centers, who serve in rotation to function on behalf of the Executive Faculty. One member from the Faculty Advisory Council serves on the committee. The ECEF reviews recommendations forwarded by the FAPC and CPAPC, reviews nominations to Emeritus status, and has input on other academic policies of importance to the School of Medicine.
