Vanderbilt CME has made available seven online modules that meet the State’s prescribing requirement, each with a different focus on prescribing controlled substances:
Module 1: The Controlled Prescription Drug Epidemic, Physician Mis-prescribing and the Roles of the DEA and Medical Board
Module 2: Federal and State Guidelines for Proper Prescribing Practices
Module 3: Best Clinical Practices for Proper Prescribing of CPD
Module 4: Overview of Pain and TN Chronic Pain Guidelines
Module 5: Understanding Substance Abuse
Module 6: SBIRT, Screening Tools and Motivational Interviewing
Module 7: Tennessee CPD Laws, Regulations & Guidelines
Modules vary in length from 30 to 75 minutes allowing you to customize content to meet your needs. A minimum of three modules will be required to meet the State’s requirement for two hours of prescribing CME.
To access the modules,
- Log into cme.mc.vanderbilt.edu
- In the blue bar at the top if the page, highlight “Educational Activities” then click “Online Education”
- In the search box type “Proper”
- Click on title of the module
Credit will become immediately available after you complete each module. There is no charge to participate. You must create a profile in the system prior to participating.
