Mathematica 8 has been released.  The Vanderbilt Software Store has pushed a free upgrade to customers with active subscriptions. If you are a student who uses Mathematica for coursework in the School of Engineering or the College of Arts and Science, please be aware that both schools are continuing to use version 7 through the end of the spring semester. Thomson Reuters has released Update X4.0.2 for EndNote X4 for Windows.  The update provides Microsoft Word 2010 64-bit compatibility. Students are eligible to download Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac for free through the Vanderbilt Software Store!  Go to http://softwarestore.vanderbilt.edu and click on “Office for Mac” under “Special Deals”. Office 2011 is expected to become available through Microsoft’s Home Use and Student Select Programs on October 26, 2010.  The Home Use Program enables employees to buy Office for work related use on a home computer for just $9.95.  Student Select can be used by employees and students to buy Office at discount for personal use.
