Vanderbilt’s SPSS contract has been finalized.

Phoenix Integration’s ModelCenter 8 software has been added to the ITS Software Store’s product catalog per request by the campus community. ModelCenter Standard Desktop (Academic) includes: •RSM Toolkit •Analysis Server •Monte Carlo Risk Analysis •Design of Experiments •Geometry Viewer •Base plug-in libraries: Excel, Matlab, Mathcd •Modeling and Simulation Tools: Flames, STK, Extend •Costing Tools: PRICE, SEER, ACEIT •CADFusion Pak The software may be installed for free on Vanderbilt and student-owned computers.

Microsoft is offering an Office 2007 Enterprise promotion to higher education. Office Enterprise is Microsoft’s most comprehensive Office offering. The promotion runs through October 31, 2009. As a result of the promotion: •The price for Office Standard and Office Professional have increased, and the price for Office Enterprise has decreased through Student Select.

The ITS Software Store has added DNASTAR Lasergene to its storefront.  Lasergene provides sequence analysis functionality to researchers.  The software is available on Windows and Macintosh platforms. The following Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista products have been reconfigured in the ITS Software Store with downloads that include Microsoft’s recently released Service Pack 2.

Windows 7 is expected to be released in the latter half of 2009. ZDnet has reported that computer manufacturers will begin offering no cost Vista to Windows 7 upgrades on July 1.  Microsoft is offering the following promotion to higher education to help foster Windows 7 adoption:

SAS Institute has released SAS 9.2.  9.2 is a free upgrade for those with active subscriptions to the SAS Education Analytic Suite.  Those eligible for the upgrade may access the free download by logging into the ITS Software Store and clicking on “My Software”.
