Heartbleed is a bug in OpenSSL, a set of software tools used widely across the Web for security. This bug may reveal sensitive information such as user names, passwords, and other private information to cyber-criminals.

Mathworks released MATLAB Release 2014a on March 6, 2014.  Software Store customers with active MATLAB subscriptions that expire April 30, 2015 are eligible to upgrade to 2014a at no cost. Vanderbilt's MATLAB product suite includes the following products.  End users would pay $15,300 per computer if Vanderbilt did not have a site license for MATLAB.  Departments pay $97.50 through the Vanderbilt Software Store.

Oracle released Security Alert CVE-2014-0160 for the OpenSSL Heartbleed vulnerability on April 18, 2014.  This Security Alert addresses a vulnerability which affects multiple OpenSSL versions implemented by multiple vendors in multiple products.
