Two years ago, VUMC IT deployed a Microsoft KMS server for activating Office, Project, Visio, Windows Client, and Windows Server.
We recently discovered that some Medical Center devices are activating against the university’s KMS server rather than the Medical Center’s KMS server.
If you provide desktop support for one or more Medical Center departments, please check the devices you support to make sure they have auto-discovery enabled.
If you find a device that is using KMS host caching, re-enable auto-discovery by running the following command at the command prompt:
slmgr.vbs /ckms
The deadline to re-enable auto-discovery is August 28, 2018.
