Microsoft released Core Infrastructure Suite (CIS) 2016 October 12, 2016. CIS 2016 includes Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016.
The VUMC Software Store offers annual subscriptions for CIS. Subscriptions expire on June 30 each year and require an annual renewal. Each subscription includes free upgrade rights to new versions that Microsoft might release during the subscription term.
The store offers two CIS Editions (Datacenter and Standard).
The Datacenter edition supports an unlimited number of virtualized instances. The Standard Edition supports up to two virtual machines.
CIS 2016 Datacenter includes the Datacenter editions of Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016. CIS 2016 Standard includes the Standard editions of Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016.
