Microsoft released Windows 8 Enterprise, Windows Server 2012 DataCenter and Windows Server 2012 Standard to volume license customers last month. Vanderbilt has access to these products through our Campus Agreement. All three products activate using the KMS server hosted and administered by ITS.
Microsoft does not offer a separate Upgrade Advisor for Windows 8 as it did for Windows 7. Instead, when you install Windows 8, the installer determines if your computer, apps, and devices are compatible with Windows 8.
Departments can purchase these products now through the Vanderbilt Software Store for $16.50 per Vanderbilt owned device.
Kivuto (the company that hosts the Software Store and administers the Microsoft Work at Home Program) expects to offer Windows 8 Ultimate to employees for $9.75 by late October.
