Visual Studio 2010 with MSDN

As part of its Visual Studio 2010 launch on April 12, Microsoft announced that existing MSDN subscriptions were converted to equal or better subscriptions.  The following summarizes how each subscription was converted:

  • Visual Studio Team System Team Suite with MSDN subscriptions have been converted to Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate with MSDN
  • Visual Studio Team System editions with MSDN Premium (Architecture, Database, Development, Test) subscriptions have been converted to Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate with MSDN
  • Visual Studio Professional with MSDN Premium subscriptions have been converted to Visual Studio 2010 Premium with MSDN
  • Visual Studio Professional with MSDN Professional subscriptions have been converted to Visual Studio 2010 Professional with MSDN
The old subscription model will be discontinued after April 2010.  See http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/support for information on the new subscription levels. Under the new model, Visual Studio subscribers will gain access to:
  • Visual Team Foundation Server 2010: available to the Ultimate, Premium, Professional, and Test Professional subscriber levels at launch
  • New productivity software (MS Office Professional 2010, Project Professional 2010, Visio Premium 2010) for use on one machine (Ultimate and Premium subscribers)
