In an effort to provide a more secure email environment, Information Technology and Enterprise Cybersecurity at Vanderbilt University Medical Center are enabling new functionality that will help you recognize potential phishing attacks.
Beginning March 9, 2020, all emails that arrive in your VUMC inbox from a non-VUMC source will have a header like the picture below. This header is meant to help you to identify potential phishing threats and protect VUMC from these dangerous attacks.
Every day, VUMC receives thousands of phishing emails. Most of these are blocked before reaching a mailbox, but some do slip through. Be alert and help VUMC protect the data entrusted to us by our patients and you. If you receive a suspicious email, forward it to phishing@vumc.org.
