Procedural Vanderbilt Nursing Informatics Subcommittee

What is VNIC?

VNIC is the Vanderbilt Nursing Informatics Committee, which is a shared governance group that allows direct care nurses, nurse leaders, and medical assistants to request and approve enhancements to eStar, VUMC's electronic medical record system. Subcommittees are overseen by the VNIC Steering Committee, which is led by executive nursing leaders from across the enterprise. Members of VNIC are called eStar Representatives; they act as eStar super users who help disseminate information regarding system changes to their peers. Each subcommittee meets monthly and members receive weekly informatics updates.

*If you are interested in learning more or possibly becoming an eStar representative, please contact us at nursinginformatics.inptperiop@vumc.org.
